My name is Kristin Bean. I am excited to begin my 21st year of teaching Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year! I taught Kindergarten in public schools for the first 12 years and then I was blessed with the opportunity to join the staff at St. John Paul II Catholic School in 2016. I graduated from Indiana University Southeast in 2004 with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement and later received my Masters degree in 2009.
I have been married to Kevin for 16 years. We have two kids and a miniature dachshund. Our son, Ryan, will be a freshman at Providence High School and our daughter, Megan, will be in sixth grade at St. John Paul II this school year. I attended Sacred Heart in Jeffersonville and Providence High School. I am so blessed that my own kids are being raised in the same faith environment that was instilled in me. We are parishioners at St. John Paul II and are excited to deepen our faith through the school community.
Kindergarten is an important year full of faith, laughter, learning, and tremendous growth. My classroom is a “Smarty Family of God.” We work as a classroom family to act the way God teaches us to support our learning. Kindergarten is the perfect balance of academics, faith and fun which teaches the whole child. I love to communicate with my families. I will share many pictures throughout the year, along with weekly newsletters and other fun information. Please contact me at any time if you have a question or concern.
